Researching the cultural politics of energy.

After Oil is committed to new ways of developing and sharing scholarly research to generate action on climate crisis. To date, this has taken the form of collaboratively authored, open-access books written over a short period by a large collection of authors, artists, academics, policymakers, and activists.

The collective also stages events designed to engage diverse communities about energy futures. It is continuously in process: its participants and projects change as new questions, communicative practices, and political possibilities emerge.

Future After Oil events will continue to explore innovative ways to put critical scholarship to work.
